Yes, I'm leaving my Christmas Sermon up for good long time yet!  Don't we yearn for joy all 365.25 days of the year?   If we know what God does for us (the Gospel), then we can have real joy, even in difficult times. This message is a Christmas dinner, not just Christmas cookies!

The Knowledge of the Lord Today

We live in a natural world where we hurt and die because of our sins or other people's sins. And sometimes we can't pin down why we hurt and die as we are faced with calamites that seem entirely random. This passage from Isaiah clearly describes a supernatural world. In Christ we can participate in a limited way in that supernatural world now. God offers that supernatural world as our permanent home, if we want it.

Jesus, Our Only Hope

Believing the Gospel is our only hope for having some peace in a world that does not believe the Gospel. Our individual contributions for peace are a witness for the Gospel.

God Loves and Forgives Unconditionally

One of the robbers who was crucified with Jesus did not know what was going on, but Jesus asked the Father to forgive him along with the rest of the tormentors. What happened to him at death? With the eyes of faith we know that his sins are forgiven and that he entered the loving presence of God.
